Position Summary :
The Vice President of Finance is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. This role involves creating and managing a robust system of financial controls to mitigate risks, enhance the reliability of financial reporting, and ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Vice
President of Finance acts as the primary resource for financial information and problem resolution, guiding and supervising the finance team in areas such as billing, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, treasury management, risk management, fixed asset record keeping, and payroll. The Vice President of Finance plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Relationships and Contacts :
- Within the organization : Initiates and maintains close working relationships with CFO-COO, YW Leadership Team and staff.
- Outside the organization : Initiates and maintains close working relationships with the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, vendors, donors and volunteers.

Position Responsibilities :
Essential Responsibilities :
Oversee the daily operations of the Finance department, ensuring accurate, GAAPcompliant, and timely fiscal administration.Assist the CFO-COO, and other appropriate staff in developing budget forecasts and in long- and short-term financial planning including capital expenditure budgets for the agency.Develop or assist in the development of performance measures that support theYWCA’s strategic direction.Manage cash flow and forecasting and direct all financial and project-based accounting.Ensure that accurate monthly financial reports are prepared and presented perestablished schedules.Ensure financial activities of the organization are conducted according to generallyaccepted accounting principles for not-for-profit corporations.Assist independent auditors with the annual A-133 organization audit.Assist independent auditors with the preparation of the organization’s annual 990 return.Ensure the Indirect Cost Plan is prepared and submitted by April 30th each year.Ensure the organization’s Charitable Solicitation renewal is prepared and submitted in a timely fashion by March 31st each year.Manage all grant billing processes, ensuring that invoices are generated in compliance with relevant grant agreements.Ensure that the organization is in compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements related to financial information and reports.Acts as the point of contact for the YWCA’s property, liability insurance, cyber insurance, pet shelter insurance, and any other designated insurance coverages for the organization; processes ongoing updates / revisions to designated coverages.Responsible for the timely and accurate administration of the organization’s time & attendance, payroll, tax filings and W2’s in accordance with FLSA and IRS guidelines.Manage organization’s capital projects by negotiating with vendors, managing vendors to budget and timelines and assisting in funding projects as designated by the CFO-COO, responsible for the organization’s Treasury Management including line of credit borrowings.Additional Responsibilities :
Prepare, implement and monitor monthly and annual budgets.Review present internal controls and implement internal control procedures.Develop and revise financial and managerial accounting policies and procedures.Perform other related duties assigned by the CFO-COO.Minimum Requirements :
Education and Experience :
Position requires at least 5 years of experience (Nonprofit / Government fiscalmanagement preferred), a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, BusinessAdministration, or a similar area of focus.Physical Requirements : Ability to sit for extended periods working on a computer.
Other Requirements :
Position requires the incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insuranceand a clear driving record for the last three years.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, when needed.Skill Competencies :
