The YWCA Pierce County has been a community leader in domestic violence services for over thirty years. After starting the state's first domestic violence shelter in 1976, the YWCA has steadily expanded and enhanced a comprehensive menu of domestic violence service provision, offering clients real tools to change their lives through safety, healing, and empowerment The YWCA Pierce County touches the lives of over 14,000 adults and children annually that seek safety through this bevy of services. Support from community members via volunteers and donations helps the YWCA Pierce County support our clients in creating lives free of violence, and able to thrive.

Volunteers in this position provide general support Monday-Friday from 10 00-2 00pm to Children’s Program staff who provide therapeutic care and curriculum-based activities for children ages 7 months to 5 years who have been impacted by domestic Violence.
