WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Director serves as the project manager for the implementation, development and compliant operation of the federally funded AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP). The FGP Director serves as the program leader and has primary responsibility for compliant operation of FGP and management of the Program Manager and volunteers. The FGP Director works collaboratively with the FGP Program Manager to ensure quality, compliant programming for all stakeholders, gather and maintain records per AmeriCorps Seniors’ guidelines and participate in on-going process improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Read, understand, analyze and apply AmeriCorps and Foster Grandparent Program regulations and guidelines to the development of program policies, processes and activities. Remain up to date on all changes to guidelines and implement needed changes in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all federal grant requirements by conducting self-monitoring activities, developing policies and processes, identifying gaps, and developing and implementing corrective actions when deficiencies are identified
- End-to-end grant management including development and management of yearly budget and submission of grant renewals/continuations, completion of all required reporting, development and assessment of performance measurements, and grant closeout
- Participate in outreach and cultivate relationships with local senior-serving and community organizations to increase program awareness, build partnerships, and secure additional program funding
- Recruit, train, manage, evaluate and assess interests and strengths of staff and volunteers to optimize employment and volunteer experiences
- Develop program goals, participate in strategic planning and continuous process improvement and routinely address and solve challenges with FGP Program Manager
- Recruit and manage FGP Advisory Council
- Maintain appropriate fiscal and program records
- Assist FGP Program Manager as needed in all day-to-day program operations, in-service trainings, orientation, and recognition activities
- Enhance the total project effort through active involvement with other state and national service program associations and other senior and volunteer programs
- Attend training conferences conducted or authorized by AmeriCorps and other relevant professional development opportunities
· Other duties as required that support the administration of the FGP program and fall within the scope of the role
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE POSITION:
· Passion for working with a diverse aging population and a variety of internal and external stakeholders
· Knowledge of Montgomery and Chester Counties and community resources/contacts for older adults preferred
· A highly organized, professional manner with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills
· Ability to read, understand, analyze and apply complex programmatic and financial regulations
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong leadership skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Understanding of YWCA’s mission, goals, and objectives and ability to work independently with a high level of energy and contribute as a part of a larger team
· Strong computer (Microsoft Office) proficiencies, creative problem solving and effective time management skills
· Must possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
· Willingness to travel throughout Montgomery and Chester Counties for program activities on a regular basis
· Strong desire for continued growth and learning
· Ability to work independently, goal oriented
Education & Experience:
- AA or BA in related field and relevant work experience
· Project management experience preferred
· Volunteer management experience preferred
· Community engagement and relationship building experience preferred
· Experience managing a federal grant is preferred
· Proven leadership experience preferred
