What are the responsibilities and job description for the Victim Services External Case Manager position at YWCA York?
Summary:
The Victim Services External Case Manager will work with persons who have been identified as victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and or human trafficking who are currently working with our Counseling and Legal departments. This person will also provide case management to identified Domestic Violence (DV) program participants within the community as funding indicates. This position will provide case management and advocacy to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking who are not part of our emergency or transitional housing programs. Must be dedicated to the mission of YWCA York.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work to provide support services, nondirective counseling, information, and referrals.
- Track the progress of clients.
- Assist clients in securing transportation when appropriate to appointments.
- Develop a network of resources and support systems for those victims of domestic violence within the community.
- Participate in community forums, collaborating with other community resource providers to establish healthy working relationships that will benefit the clients we serve.
- Facilitate Survivor Advisory Board Meetings monthly (may be held in the evening).
- Attend all meetings and training as required.
- Complete required documentation daily.
- Responsible for maintaining statistics and reports as required by grants, funding sources, and the Chief Services Officer.
- Required to lift or move materials of average weight.
- Maintain confidential materials associated with the agency’s clients and files.
- Assured that services were of the highest quality and operated from a trauma-based perspective.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general equivalency certificate and two years or more of experience in related social services.
- Must complete PCAR/PCCD/PCADV advocate training within 90 days of employment. Provided by YWCA York.
