CANDLE STUDIO ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION: M-F (9:30am-2:30pm flex hours) $19/hr

We are a well established local women-owned candle business that is experiencing steady growth. We are passionate about creating amazing candles with elevated design. We are seeking a self-motivated and independent individual to join our candle studio as a Candle Production and Packaging Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to acquire and master all aspects of candle production, packaging and retail sales. This position will be trained to support a lead candle-maker and fill in as needed with the opportunity to gain experience in candle making.

The position offers flexible hours, typically ranging from 5-7 hours per day.

Hours vary seasonally, with increased responsibilities during the Fall and Winter seasons.

The position guarantees a minimum of 20 hours per week.

The position is a hybrid of responsibilities at our candle production studio and separate

retail boutique.

This position will cross train through out all our positions with the opportunity to move into a lead position with increased pay.

LOCATION: Lake Oswego, Oregon

JOB DUTIES:

• Process and pack candle orders from various platforms and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment

• Prepare candles for retail display and deliver stock to retail boutiques in and around Lake Oswego

• Retail boutique activities include customer interactions and sales transactions

• Track supplies and inventory management for studio & retail to maintain optimal inventory levels

• Process and label candles in alignment with high quality standards

• Prep vessels, wick vessels, and assist with candle pouring

• Maintain a clean workspace with supplies organized, keep trash and recycling in order, sweep floors, clean and maintain production equipment

• Deliver orders daily to UPS

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

• We are looking for a dependable, self starter who is consistently positive and excited by a creative and fast paced environment

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality is key for our packaging and candle making standards

• Work load can vary depending on the month and season, so having flexibility in your schedule is necessary

• There are lots of lovely scents floating around the studio, so applicant must not be sensitive to fragrance, even though our scents are safe and clean

• Occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs to move heavy boxes around the studio

• To ensure quick deliveries daily trips to UPS and possibly local boutiques are necessary, therefore a reliable car is required

• Any packaging and candle making experience is a bonus but not required
