Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed, utilizing software including Open Dental.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Proficiency in sterilization of instruments; disinfection of treatment rooms and equipment.
- Assist with prosthodontics procedures when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
- Required that candidates possess a current Ohio Radiology License and CPR/BLS certificationPRIOR to employment.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
- Experience with dental receptionist duties is a must, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Proficiency in using dental software applications like Open Dental and other coinciding programs.
- Knowledge of medical documentation processes to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Experience and knowledge handling sharp instruments
- Proficiency in sterilization of instruments and disinfection of treatment rooms and equipment.
- Can take and independently follow directions as well as corrections.
