What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at Z Nautic Group?
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position supports the Quality Manager in maintaining high quality standards and dependability of our product, as well as ensuring that the company meets customer requirements. The QC Technician reports quality issues and communicates compliance concerns with urgency and helps establish action plans for improving build quality.
MAIN TASKS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct documented inspections on incoming parts, raw materials and boats as required
- Create and publish incoming power point inspection quality reports for Tunisia.
- Lead and/or participate in containment and investigation of internal and external product nonconformance activity
- Conduct and document quality inspections on outgoing boats utilizing written checklist, cameras, and/or electronic devices
- Oversee paperwork and work order documents procedure
- Join the MRB team to disposition nonconforming products, document supplier nonconforming products, and then work with purchasing on the return of products to supplier for credit or replacement
- Ensure that non-conformance incidents are reported and elevated accordingly
- Report quality issues, solutions and data during weekly KPI meetings.
SKILL-SETS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
Academic knowledge:
- Quality assurance processes
- Various mathematical concepts and statistical techniques
- Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
Technical skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid computer skills, managing files and experience using spreadsheets to report data
- Well-developed website research skills
- Ability to develop inspection criteria, inspection checklists and power point presentations
- Experience with calibration and measuring equipment
- Problem-solving skills
Soft skills:
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
- Must have a whatever it takes attitude to ensure quality is maintained until last boat leaves the facility at the end of each month.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Academic background:
High school diploma or GED
Job experience:
2 – 5 years industrial or manufacturing experience (desired), quality inspector experience preferred
Professional experience:
Quality Auditor, Quality Lead, Quality Inspector
Computer skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), related software

Hours: 7-4 / 8-5 Dependent on the season
