Location: ZA Construction, LLC – Mendenhall, MS

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Director with a strong background in safety program design, implementation, and policy writing. This individual will be responsible for developing and overseeing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving continuous improvement in safety practices across the organization in conjunction with the existing safety management team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in technical aspects of safety management and a proven ability to craft comprehensive and effective safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure the safety and health of employees.
- Write and maintain clear, thorough safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the organization’s needs.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, FRA, and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees to promote awareness and compliance with established safety protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety initiatives into all aspects of the business.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company’s safety policies are up to date and compliant.
- Conduct incident investigations in conjunction with safety management team, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare safety reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHST) is a plus.
- Proven experience designing and implementing safety programs and writing safety policies in a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards (OSHA, FRA, EPA), and risk management principles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on creating clear, actionable policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify safety trends and develop data-driven solutions.
- Ability to lead and influence others to drive a culture of safety across the organization.
