Furniture and Warehouse Manager
ZABS Place is a non-profit thrift boutique in Matthews, NC that trains and employs young adults with special needs and talents. We have a unique culture that is fun, friendly, and nimble.
This is a full time role with the following schedule:
Sunday 11:45am to 6:15pm
Monday- Thursday 9:45am- 6:15pm
Days Off: Friday and Saturday
This role will be focused on the following areas:
Warehouse Maintenance (30%):
- Overseeing intake of donated items
- Sorting donated items to determine sales worthiness according to ZABS Place standards
- Following warehouse processes to ensure optimal use of space for quality merchandise
- Maintaining donation standards while providing empathic customer service to donors — this can be an emotional experience.
- Oversee the donation calendar and make coordinate pickups and deliveries as needed.
- Help load pieces in the customer's vehicle and assist in delivering purchases in the ZABS Van (clean driving record required).
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and sit/stand for extended periods.
- Anything else required to move us forward fulfilling our mission statement.
Overseeing the Furniture & Collectables Location (70%):
- Greet customers, understand their needs, make furniture recommendations, answer questions, and help complete sales transactions.
- Photograph, research, list and communicate with interested customers via online sales platforms.
- Inspect, price, and stage furniture and décor to create an inviting and inspiring Furniture Thrift Boutique experience.
- Anything else required to move us forward fulfilling our mission statement.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $15 - $18/hour (based on experience)

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Passion for our mission and commitment to excellence in service.
- Prior key holder experience preferred.
- Must be able to work and make sound decisions independently.
