Piper Companies is hiring an Accessibility Engineer for a large Financial Institution. The Accessibility Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our web and mobile experiences are accessible to all users, adhering to WCAG 2.1 and AA/AAA standards. This position requires hands-on expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks, front-end development, and accessibility testing. The ideal candidate will be passionate about accessibility and have a strong track record of remediating defects in web and mobile experiences. The Accessibility Engineer will need to work on site 5 days per week in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities for the Accessibility Engineer:
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 and AA/AAA standards for web and mobile experiences.
- Build and maintain accessible web and mobile experiences using modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).
- Remediate accessibility defects found in web and mobile experiences.
- Perform accessibility testing for web and mobile experiences using tools such as Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, and Playwright.
- Collaborate with product owners to address accessibility issues and suggest remediation strategies.
- Work through backlogs and sprints to fix and retest accessibility issues.
- Stay updated on the latest accessibility guidelines, tools, and technologies.
Requirements for the Accessibility Engineer:
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 and AA/AAA standards.
- Experience in building accessible web and mobile experiences.
- Experience in remediating defects found in web and mobile experiences.
- Experience testing for accessibility in web and mobile experiences.
- Hands-on expertise using modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).
- Proficiency in Typescript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, and Playwright.
- Knowledge of Web Components and Component Architecture.
Compensation for the Accessibility Engineer:
- $55-$63 per hour
