RHEL Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator to join a Federal Program located in Colorado Springs, CO. The RHEL Administrator will support National Security by managing and maintaining the RHEL infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the RHEL Administrator include:

• Oversee and maintain RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Handle system administration duties for RHEL 7.x/8.x, covering setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Monitor and evaluate system performance to detect and resolve bottlenecks, implementing strategies to boost efficiency and reliability.
• Perform system backup and recovery tasks to ensure data protection and high availability.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to meet business needs and enhance the RHEL server environment.
• Create and update comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Carry out vulnerability assessments using tools like Tenable, HP WebInspect, and similar platforms.
• Investigate security incidents, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies, implementing both proactive and reactive security measures.
  
  

Qualifications for the RHEL Administrator include:

• 7 years of experience in related field
• Demonstrated experience working as a system admin on Linux or Red Hat Systems.
• Must have an Active Secret Clearance
  
  

Compensation for the RHEL Administrator includes:

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
