Department Manager Engineering Delivery Systems

Job Description

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to lead Engineering Delivery Systems for Zachry Engineering Corp (ZEC). We want to talk to professionals with proven experience leading teams and have experience with integrated digital project delivery within the Process and Energy industries.

The Department Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of technical professionals that setup and maintain the core systems for engineering and design across our US and Manila offices. The Manager will lead initiatives related to the engineering and design delivery process, leveraging best practices, integrated data models, and new technology. In addition, the Department Manager will have a responsibility for the engineering software (and related services) budget and involved with commercial negotiations with the suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, effective and decisive leadership overseeing a team of technical specialists that establish, maintain, and enhance the systems for engineering, design, and project services functions. Manage department resources and allocation to project teams. Identify and recruit the critical talent as required to deliver the integrated systems strategy.
• Interface with customers for improved alignment on system and data requirements.
• Develop digital strategies and execution plans for improving and enhancing integrated project execution.
• Oversight of related supplier contracts for engineering software, systems and services.
• Lead process, system improvement and engineering automation initiatives, including implementation of change.
• Communicate job expectations, monitoring and review job performance. Provide feedback, coaching, and mentoring to the professional staff.
• Meet department financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing and implementing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and initiating corrective actions.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
• Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by collaborating with other members of senior management.

Physical Demands

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, video conferencing, email, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely.

Work Environment

Work will be in a corporate office environment operating and functioning at a fast pace. However, visits to other work environments maybe required, including warehouses and, in a trailer, or building on construction sites.
