WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design piping systems and process equipment utilizing 3D software to support Clients’ engineering projects
- Build various types and complexities of equipment, piping layouts, steel structures, etc. in a 3D environment from 2D documentation, translating real world objects and installations with a goal to conceptualize and solve design challenges
- Navigate laser scan files to support real time field information while designing in 3D
- Create construction documents used to weld, fabricate, etc. piping systems that were designed
- Develop understanding of industry practices set by large industry leaders in fields like refining, general oil and gas, midstream gas processing, chemical, power, and food and beverage
- Understand basic mechanical and chemical properties on various materials on construction
- Understand physical loads and material support limits
- Understand basic fabrication and installation methods and sequencing to help optimize efficient design solutions
- Understand different technologies and design criteria for valves, instruments, and other inline piping components
- Ability to read and navigate Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and other process flow documents within the applicable industry.
- Support development of packages to coordinate with Stress Engineering to ensure proper system flexibility with respect to design temperatures and pressures.
- Support 3D model review meetings to coordinate the design with construction and Client Operations personnel
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Entry level design position, Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other.
- CAD experience preferred
- 3D Design software experience recommended
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft TEAMS, Outlook and Adobe/Bluebeam
- Experience with some physical mechanical equipment preferred
- Commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards, and initiatives
- Strong communication skills required to provide effective inter-discipline, client, vendor, and construction coordination on projects
- Availability for field assignments involving travel to sites involving work in industrial facilities
- Highly motivated with ability to work in an interactive and open team environment
- Self-starter with initiative and ability to complete deliverables and tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare design calculations, technical documents, and drawings
- Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries

- Deeper understanding of how major equipment and inline instrumentation work together
