JOB PURPOSE
Service of food, specialty coffees, and/or beverages to include order-taking and delivery of any food and/or beverage item. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner, resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Checks outlet before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
- Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or outlet promotions for guest awareness. Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests, when applicable.
- Records the details of the order from the guests, repeating the order to the guest to check for accuracy.
- Inputs the order into the Point of Sale system and ensures all transactions are handled properly. Utilizes Point of Sale system to record all cash, room charges, credit card and house account transactions.
- Replenishes food and beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Market and serve upon request any menu items or specialty coffees.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work and storeroom area.
- Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands and storage areas.
- Basic knowledge of food products, standard recipes, and proper preparation.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicates with other team members.
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment, includes all equipment.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures to pre-check order and close out the check.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on continuous schedule.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
- Ability to continuously perform essential job functions on a variety of shifts, for extended periods of time.
- Ability to listen, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish helpful.
- Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
EXPERIENCE
Prior hospitality experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
TABC Certification
Food Handlers Certification required.
CPR certification preferred.
