Job Purpose: To record orders, communicate with guests to explain, take orders, and answer the phone with proper etiquette, clearly communicate and obtain guest information. To deliver and serve food and/or beverage items in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Clean, polish, and set up room service trays and delivery tables per Hilton and Palacio del Rio specifications in anticipation of incoming orders.
- Take food and/or beverage order in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction and correct delivery of food and beverages.
- Set up amenities and verify room status and reservation.
- Completes all necessary paperwork.
- Order all supplies needed for daily operation.
- Clean, polish, and set up room service trays and delivery tables per Hilton and Palacio del Rio specifications in anticipation of incoming orders.
- Serve as communication junction between guests, kitchen,service staff, and management.
- Retrieve guest check from order taker, properly set delivery table and service tray, and pickup order from the kitchen or bar. Ensure that guest order is complete and correct and all necessary items (i.e., all food, beverages, silverware, alcoholic beverages, and condiments) are present and correctly displayed on service trays and delivery tables when picking up food and prior to delivery.
- Carry trays up to 30lbs. or push wheeled carts to deliver room service orders to guests in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. After setup, present check and obtain payment. Delivers payment/signed check for closing.
- Retrieve all trays/tables from guest floors and return them to the designated location.
- Coordinate and assist kitchen staff as necessary to prepare and deliver all amenities to guest rooms.
- Perform correct and professional greeting and introductions to all guests. Respond to requests and address all concerns and needs in a friendly and courteous manner.
