Position Summary:
The client is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven EHS Manager to lead and execute their Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This role is essential for ensuring the health and safety of all employees, maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement across our operations. The EHS Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and management of all EHS policies, procedures, and programs, aligning with local, state, federal, and corporate requirements. This individual will collaborate closely with leadership to meet EHS goals, reduce risks, and promote a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term and short-term EHS strategies, focusing on behavior-based safety (BBS), risk assessments, hazard reduction, and environmental sustainability. Ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- EHS Guidance and Compliance: Advise the Denver Leadership Team on corporate and local EHS objectives, regulatory compliance, and safety best practices. Ensure the site’s compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as client-specific standards.
- Safety Program Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of plant safety systems and programs. Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance safety standards. Foster a culture of safety by actively driving performance and engagement across all levels of the site.
- Hazard Identification & Mitigation: Collaborate with managers and supervisors to proactively identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions. Conduct job hazard analysis, ergonomic assessments, and industrial hygiene sampling.
- EHS Training & Development: Lead safety training programs for associates, supervisors, and management teams. Provide ongoing education on EHS systems and ensure all staff are equipped to handle safety challenges in the workplace.
- EHS Program Coordination: Direct and oversee various EHS programs, including fire protection, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hearing conservation, environmental reporting, and ISO 14001 audits. Manage PPE needs and ensure the effectiveness of personal protective equipment.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning. Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported according to OSHA, EPA, and corporate standards. Track and report EHS performance metrics to drive improvements.
- Collaboration with Corporate EHS: Serve as the primary liaison between the site and corporate EHS offices. Ensure the site adheres to corporate EHS policies and responds effectively to audit findings, incident reports, and environmental concerns.
- Safety in Equipment & Process Changes: Perform safety validations for new and modified equipment and processes. Identify potential safety concerns and recommend safety improvements to enhance employee protection.
- Gensuite SMS Administration: Serve as the site administrator for the Gensuite Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring accurate reporting and efficient use of the system.
- Active Engagement: Actively participate in shop floor management meetings, Gemba walks, and weekly safety talks. Provide real-time feedback and safety guidance to operational teams to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- EHS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as best practices in risk management, hazard identification, and safety systems.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS), specifically Gensuite, is highly preferred.
- Strong Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels of the organization to embrace a culture of safety.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify solutions, and implement improvements. Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Education and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in EHS management, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Certifications (Preferred): Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Risk Manager (CRAME), Certified Environmental Manager (CEM), or similar certifications are a plus. Lean, Change Management, or other relevant certifications are also highly desirable.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
