What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Payroll Assistant (20-Hour Week) position at ZAH Group?
Payroll Assistant will assist in the processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, updating tax information, direct deposits, address changes, etc. This person will be responsible for producing and distributing bi-weekly and monthly reports to the various locations. Ideally someone with knowledge of large payroll systems, Dayforce preferred, and strong technical knowledge.
Process payroll in Dayforce for three locations
Review and approve changes for employee’s addresses, direct deposit, tax changes, etc.
Update Dayforce information for badges, employment properties, 401k changes, etc.
Run reports each pay period and monthly to distribute to locations
Process payment requests for Union Dues each month
Process 401k wire requests and send to Payroll Manager for approval
Work with HR calculating pro-rates final vacation hours
Process manual ACH requests for involuntary Texas terminations
Process garnishments
Balance quarter payroll to 941 returns
Make entries for Third Party Sick payments at year end
Update tax changes requested by employees.
Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll runs.
Balance and review entries, investigate and correct errors associated with the auditing of payroll data for current payroll.
Process 401k and 401k loans, payroll adjustments, benefit adjustments, special bonus awards, etc.
Prepare and process manual and off-cycle checks.
Assist with internal and external financial audits related to payroll and benefits administration.
Payroll Assistant should be able to create and use reports in Dayforce.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Five to seven years payroll experience required. Experience with payroll processing in-house and utilizing Dayforce is highly preferred. Knowledge of Federal and State tax laws.• Must have strong communications skills, verbal and written. This includes strong knowledge using Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong team focus and ability to work with others, both internal and external to the organization.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
