Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to inspire and educate students in the art of music. The ideal candidate will possess a teaching background in music education, with the ability to engage students of various ages and skill levels. This role requires creativity, patience, and a commitment to fostering a love for music in all students. The Music Teacher should be able to implement the curriculum given within the classroom structure each week.
Our Company teaches after school music classes in local school district classes. Classes run from 3:10-4:10 pm once a week. Teachers are asked to teach 1-3 classes a week at their assigned school. We offer Piano, guitar, and bucket beats (early percussion) classes for students in grades 1st-5th. Our classes are themed based and centers ran with students rotating between theory games and class activities reinforcing their musical knowledge. Classes run in 5-6 week sessions with the school calendar. Teachers are asked to commit to teaching the entire session. All of our music classes rotate the same curriculum throughout each session and are easy to teach with a basic knowledge of music. All curriculum and equipment is provided for the teacher.
Duties
- Implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Teach basic music theory and instrument skills in an one hour class to students grades 1st-5th.
- Be able to multi-task in the classroom orchestrated with a centers approach to learning.
- Be flexible to adapt curriculum to the size of the class and needs within the student body.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Keep music learning fun and exciting by engaging with the students in a nurturing way.
Qualifications
- Must have your own transportation and consistently show up for work.
- Must have the ability to lift music equipment and transition it from a car into the classroom and back.
- Must pass a background check and finger printing for the local school district.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching music to elementary age students.
- Skills in curriculum development to create effective lesson plans tailored to student needs.
- Background in early childhood education and classroom management skills is highly recommended.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- A passion for nurturing creativity and fostering a lifelong appreciation for music among students.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 6 per week
