What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Server position at Zama Latin American Cuisine?
- Ensure friendly greeting to all guests, make beverages and offer food options and serve within established procedures and standards
- Take orders for all food and beverage requests from both guest and service staff
- Use suggestive selling techniques for food and beverage
- Proficient in all bar, sushi and dinner menus and can describe all menu items to a guest if/when necessary
- Responsible for bank; ensure their safe return/deposit
- Ensure adequate working knowledge
- Accountable for securing payment
- Clear, clean and reset floor, tables and dining areas during service
- Clean serving equipment and glassware throughout shift
- Is responsible for proper opening and closing of dining room, service stations, bathrooms and side work.
- Stack and handle glassware, and silver to avoid breakage and misuse
- Directs back servers
- Display and own active knowledge of house wines, mixology and beverage list
- Make managers aware of all guest comments and complaints, needs and suggestions
- Maintain positive communication with service personnel
- Familiar with California liquor laws
- Responsible for assisting all team members in organization of kitchen items, to include, dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies and proper rotation and organization of all food deliveries
- Complete tasks and projects delegated by the manager
- Assist other departments as business volumes, and staff levels demand
- Other duties as assigned
