Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  •  Attend and participate in daily production meetings. 
  • Coordinate raw materials availability with scheduled production needs. 
  • Monitor production schedules by area (molding, laminates, extrusion, CAP) to ensure timeliness of material availability to wrappers. 
  • Oversee and direct personnel in departments through department leads or directly. 
  • Direct/redirect personnel to various departments within area to ensure effective utilization of personnel and flow of product. 
  • Prioritize schedules to ensure target delivery date. 
  • Monitor product quality and accuracy of manufacturing runs at all times. Create understandable metrics within department (optimal ft/min, scrap, etc.) and implement and manage by such metrics. Set and maintain strict standards. 
  • Maximize production runs. 
  • Maintain/schedule WIP inventory. 
  • Drive execution and accountability. Build, direct, manage, and ensure implementation and effectiveness of the departments performance management efforts to include: metrics gathering and observation, performance feedback and planning, and ongoing performance communication. 
  • Consistently monitor and adjust the use of team members to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Develop Improvement Plans for team members to increase performance and follow up to ensure expected results and improvement is executed. 
  • Perform performance reviews based on these Improvement Plans and other key metrics. 
  • Continuously improve cost/process/product by analyzing performance and recommending change. 
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of effective supervision, training and development, and health, safety, and welfare of the team. 
  • Enforce and promote teamwork in department and across departments, where applicable. 
  • Organize and direct team members to neatly clean areas, “no clutter.” 
  • Prioritize/Plan the schedules for day and night shifts.  
  • Assist with training new staff. 

Requirements

  •  Must possess the ability to solve problems effectively and in a timely manner. 
  •  Must possess excellent leadership qualities and abilities to include: organization, motivation, consistency, honesty, respectfulness, and communication. 
  •  Must be able to take and execute instructions. 
  •  Must have effective, efficient planning expertise. 
  •  Must be able to read and interpret reports, drive improvements, and execute plans. 
  •  Must have multi-tasking and situational analysis abilities. 
  •  Must have excellent math and reading skills. 
  •  Must understand production principles such as cycle times, run speeds, etc. 
  •  Must understand shipping and warehouse principles such as finished goods inventory, on-time shipments, order completion, etc. 
  •  Must be flexible and adapt to frequent change of plans and responsibilities. 
  •  Must be decisive in actions. 
  • Must be able to speak/write/understand English.
  • Light to physical efforts involving standing, bending, stooping, lifting and pulling/pushing of over 50 lbs.
  • Operate computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere and perform under pressure. 
  • Must have highly developed personal skills to include ability to be calm under pressure, use balanced approaches to issues, excellent listening skills, and ability to use good judgment. 
  • Ability to work long hours as necessary to make sure work is completed (Saturday and Sunday included) 
  • Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment
