Pest Control Technician

Job Brief

• Zap Pest Control, Inc., needs a pest control technician to work 32 hours a week.
• Starting pay is $18.00 per hour; experienced technician is negotiable.
• Pest control experience is helpful but not required. Willing to train the right applicant.

Pest Control Technician Responsibilities

• Inspect homes and buildings and identify pest infestations.
• Choose an effective approach to remove pests and clearly communicate treatment strategies to customers.
• Use different pest control methods such as chemicals or setting of traps or baits.
• Apply pesticide safely in homes, buildings or structures and the surrounding environment.
• Strong ability to keep accurate records of hours worked, chemicals used, and payment collection.

Requirements and Skills

• Excellent customer and communication skills.
• Good decision making and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills.
• Be detailed oriented and be able to follow detailed instructions in applying pesticide for best pest removal as well as safety.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Possess physical stamina, be able to climb a ladder and work comfortably in confined areas.
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Be able to pass a background check, as well as a drug test.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekends as needed
