We are an established and successful General Contractor seeking a Project Engineer for our ground up and tenant improvement projects in the Lake Tahoe Area!
The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in coordinating and executing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role bridges the gap between field operations and office administration, providing critical support in managing project documentation, scheduling, cost controls, and communication with stakeholders. The Project Engineer plays a vital role in driving project efficiency and serves as a stepping stone to a Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project progress.
- Ensure smooth communication between stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Act as a liaison between field teams and office staff to address project needs and resolve issues.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare, manage, and update project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
Budget & Cost Control
Assist in tracking project budgets and costs, flagging potential overruns.
Field Support
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with plans, and support quality control efforts.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Coordinate material procurement to align with project schedules.
