Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program

            Special Knowledge Skills:

• Knowledge of the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to relate positively to young children.
• Ability to work well with parents and the ability to understand their needs and requests.

Experience:

• Previous teaching experience in pre-school or day care is helpful

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supervise children.
• Be responsible for the appearance, arrangement and learning environment of the Day Care area.
• Participate in 15 clock hours annually of documented training in early childhood development.
• Be familiar with state licensing laws, minimum standards and guidelines for detecting and reporting child neglect and abuse.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
