What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant Paralegal position at ZBS Law, LLP?
Growing mid-sized law firm is looking for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal with specific experience in the practice areas associated with mortgage default servicing. This position is a full-time position that will report to our attorneys and well-known office manager in our Arizona office located in Midtown, Phoenix. We are a collaborative office with a team-player mindset; we cross-train and value continuing education.
- Managing a case load from inception to termination.
- Monitor all client webpages for updates and responses for the department (including TEMPO, BKFS/LPS, etc.).
- Review referrals from clients, and set up matters
- Draft sale documents for manager and attorney review
- Follow up with vendors on the status of pending sales
- Communicate with homeowners in default
- Review governmental websites as necessary
- Review Bankruptcy information as necessary
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in any of the following practice areas: non-judicial foreclosure, bankruptcy, consumer lending, collections, and\or forcible detainer experience, preferably within a law firm
- High School Diploma and either a Paralegal certificate (or equivalent experience) required; an associate’s degree is evidence of equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree encouraged.
- Be proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Professional
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to prepare legal documents and assist with legal matters (maintain calendars, scheduling, monitor deadlines, etc.).
- Compose and prepare professional and/or legal correspondence and memoranda through email, faxes, or overnight packages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
