About Us :
Zeal AI's mission is to make it magically easy to discover, book and plan activities with friends / family in order to build social bonds. Zeal AI is building the next-generation AI search engine with agentic capabilities to streamline bookings and enhance user experiences, starting with Weekend Planning : restaurant availability across all booking platforms (OpenTable, Resy, Yelp, etc) in one place, discovery of concerts / live music and music festivals, and other things to do with real time data (more coming soon). The company is founded by Ex-Airbnb executive, Varsha Rao and is funded by world class angel and early stage investors. The team is primarily based in San Francisco and is hybrid / flexible, meeting up a few days a week in person.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team and lead the development of our core product while mentoring junior engineers.
Role Overview :
As the Full Stack Engineer , you will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the end-to-end development of our platform. This includes both front-end and back-end development, as well as implementing AI-driven features, and architecting scalable solutions. You’ll also provide hands-on coding expertise while helping guide and mentor a small team of three entry-level software engineers. You will be instrumental in building the product’s technical foundation, ensuring the system is robust, scalable, and optimized for future growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Full Stack Development : Architect, build, and maintain both the front-end and back-end of the AI-powered search engine platform, including key features such as the agentic booking system.
- Develop AI Features : Collaborate with the product teams to integrate machine learning models and natural language processing tools into the search engine and booking system.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership : Guide, mentor, and support 3 entry-level engineers by helping them navigate technical challenges, reviewing their code, and providing continuous feedback on best practices.
- Code Reviews : Ensure high-quality code by conducting thorough reviews, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices for writing clean, maintainable code.
- Architect Scalable Solutions : Design scalable, high-performance back-end systems, databases, and APIs that can handle growing user demand and data complexity.
- Technical Documentation : Write and maintain clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API documentation, and coding guidelines.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Design) to deliver features that meet business goals and improve user experience.
- Innovation : Keep up with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve the product’s technical stack and AI capabilities.
