Electrical Project Manager :
The role of an Electrical Project Manager is to ensure the successful completion of electrical projects by effectively managing resources, minimizing risks, adhering to industry standards, fostering communication with clients, and ensuring that projects meet quality expectations and safety regulations.
This position oversees every phase of electrical projects, from planning to execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Estimating & Planning :
- Assist in creating project budgets and timelines during the estimating phase.
- Support site evaluations, answer technical questions, and help with other estimating and planning tasks.
- Once the project is awarded, participate in the handover process with the estimator.
- Budget Management :
- Manage project budgets and ensure that projects stay within financial limits.
- Track costs and forecast expenses to optimize project efficiency.
- Provide cost projections for internal and client reporting.
- Resource Management :
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure that all project needs are met, including personnel, tools, and materials.
- Team Leadership :
- Lead and manage the project team, including electricians, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment on and off-site.
- Risk Management :
- Identify potential risks to project timelines, quality, and safety.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Coordination :
- Coordinate with other project teams, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
- Quality Control :
- Ensure that the work meets industry standards and the project's specific requirements.
- Progress Monitoring :
- Track the project's progress, identify delays or issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure that projects meet client deadlines.
- Accounts Receivable :
- Generate invoices and progress billings, follow up on overdue payments, and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure payments are made on time.
- Accounts Payable :
- Build positive relationships with vendors, address any discrepancies, and provide regular reporting in line with company policies.
- Client & Management Communication :
- Provide regular project updates and reports to both clients and management.
- Manage client expectations throughout the planning and execution phases.
- Documentation :
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, plans, permits, change orders, submittals, progress reports, and other necessary documentation.
- Compliance :
- Ensure that all work adheres to electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Commissioning and Handover :
- Oversee the commissioning process and ensure a smooth handover of completed electrical systems to the client.
- Complete the project closeout process, including addressing any change orders, extra work, or claims.
- Post-Project Evaluation :
- Conduct evaluations after project completion to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned.
