Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical expertise to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, processes, and tooling essential for the production of quartz crystals, frequency control products, and spectrum control products.
Job Description:
- Manage various manufacturing processes, including welding, joining, soldering, lead forming, and more.
- Apply engineering tools and statistical concepts to sustain and enhance processes.
- Develop production-level documentation and procedures.
- Utilize Lean manufacturing techniques to optimize material flow and reduce COGS.
- Collaborate on new designs to ensure customer specifications are met regarding materials and finishes.
- Recommend mechanical design methods for processes like machining, plating, and joining, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
- Assist in managing new component requirements for both electronic and mechanical parts.
- Generate documentation and procedures for production levels.
- Specify and initiate purchases for manufacturing tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Plan, specify, and justify capital equipment investments.
- Lead product and process improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to conduct concurrent engineering.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Hands-on role involving collaboration across multiple disciplines.
- Preferred experience with the manufacturing of hand-assembled soldered components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Solidworks proficiency is essential; Solidworks Simulation knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Minitab, and Microsoft AX is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to work with ITAR data without requiring a license.
Education, Experience, & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Preference will be given to candidates with more than 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Salary : $72,000 - $75,000
