Senior Network Engineer

Summary

The selected Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the organization's computer networks, ensuring optimal performance, security, and connectivity by managing network infrastructure, hardware, software, and configurations, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, while also identifying and resolving network issues to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop network architectures, considering scalability, redundancy, and security requirements to meet organizational needs.
• Provides tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects.
• Develops and assists team members with the use of new processes and tools.
• Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
• Effective communication to collaborate with other IT teams, explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Researches, recommends, and develops new opportunities for utilizing current and emerging technologies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online.
• Monitors the mail systems and scans for content and virus threats to the organization.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Performing regular network maintenance, including software updates, patch management, and hardware upgrades.
• Working knowledge of VMWare.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
• Maintains, monitors, and tests for disaster recovery.
• Maintains detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
