Summary
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing fleet and warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and reliability. This role manages all aspects of our fleet, including vehicles, trailers, and both light and heavy equipment, while also supervising warehouse operations and logistics personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate records of vehicle servicing, inspections, and compliance.
- Scheduling and overseeing maintenance and repairs to keep all fleet assets in peak condition.
- Supervising the logistics team, including three logistics associates, to ensure smooth operations.
- Managing the fleet mechanic and ensuring maintenance tasks are completed effectively.
- Enforcing company policies and safety standards, taking corrective action when necessary to maintain compliance.
This role is critical in ensuring that company's logistical functions support operational goals, minimize downtime, and uphold company standards.
Job Description and Tasks:
- Ensuring the company's compliance with U.S Department of Transportation and FMCSA laws for both vehicles and DOT drivers.
- Managing all maintenance and scheduled services for all owned fleet vehicles, trailers and equipment, heavy and light.
- Developing methods to creatively cut fleet costs and maximize profits and efficiency.
- Creating and managing existing vendor relationships
- Managing vehicle licensure, insurance, and registration
- Effective scheduling of pending repairs and preventative maintenance
- Monitoring company drivers to ensure adherence to vehicle procedures and proper driving practices
- Monitoring heavy equipment operators for proper maintenance and inspection of owned equipment
- Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress
- Assisting operators with minor repairs on the road or on the jobsite when able
- Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles or equipment in case of theft.
- Training of drivers and operators to comply with company vehicle and equipment standards
Duties Frequency
- Review of Fleet application for service reminders Daily
- Review of Fleet application for vehicle or driver renewal reminders Weekly
- Collaborate with drivers and operators for scheduled appointments Daily
- Diagnosing fleet problems and coordinating with appropriate repair vendor Daily
- Inputting completed service jobs into Fleet application Daily
- Maintaining records for all fleet vehicles and equipment Daily
- Ensuring safe securement of the load on delivery vehicle As Required
- Ensuring the safe operation and driving behavior on the roadways and jobs Daily
- Assisting the team with minor vehicle or equipment repairs As Required
- Review and processing of personnel timesheets Weekly
- Review and processing of vendor invoicing Weekly
- Review of vehicle insurance schedule and inland marine policy As Required
Other Duties:
- Coordinating and maintaining the minimum stock level on commodity items for the fleet i.e., fluids, filters, lights etc.
- Assisting the logistics team with coordination and procedures of organization for the vehicle and equipment related supplies and materials.
- Coordinating and maintaining the minimum stock level on commodity tooling items for the electrical team.

Qualified candidates would have the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Three years mechanical experience required, three years management experience required.: Teamwork, Coordination, Organization, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Equipment Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance
- A clean driving record of at least three years is a requirement.
- Proficient in use of typical office software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with iPad and iPhone operating
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
