Multi-Tasking Assistant

Weekdays M-F 7:30am - 2:00pm, 1-2 days per week until 3 PM $20/hr

Position Overviews

We’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented individual to join us for dynamic roles that involve caregiving for the disabled company owner (Amanda) and small business management for our company, Zebra Love Co., which will be launching this year. The position will include household management, caregiving, cooking, laundry, administrative assistance, customer service, photoshop, inventory management, shipping, social media management, and helping get our company started.

This is perfect for an individual who thrives in a creative environment, enjoys a variety of tasks, and works in a friendly and calm manner.

A significant part of the position also includes collaborating on art and design projects to help develop new products. It also involves household management, cooking, light laundry, and light house work while working in the company owner’s home in Hudson.

Our company, Zebra Love Company, is an online retail business specializing in gifts, clothing, and home items. We are passionate about making a difference, donating 20% of our profits to support individuals with rare and chronic illnesses.

Key Responsibilities

Caregiving for the Company Owner:

  • Provide personal care support, including cooking, feeding, showering, personal needs, changing bedding, laundry, and dressing. No lifting required. Needs to be able to get down on the floor at times.
  • Assist with many various small tasks throughout the day (e.g., fetching items, setting things up,) to make daily life easier.
  • Make phone calls and organize household and personal tasks
  • Create a comfortable atmosphere during interactions, and be genuinely helpful and supportive.
  • Create a peaceful quiet environment when the company owner is not feeling well and be quietly helpful and proactive.
  • You do not need to have past experience with caregiving, but it is an integral part of the job.

Art & Product Development

  • Collaborate on creative projects, including product design and development.
  • Work with Photoshop and other design tools to help create unique, art-focused products.

Inventory Management and Returns:

  • Organize, track, and update inventory.
  • Process and manage returns efficiently, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Customer Service:

  • Communicate professionally and warmly with customers via email and phone.
  • Resolve inquiries and issues with empathy and efficiency.

Shipping and Logistics:

  • Package and prepare items for shipment.
  • Ensure accurate labels and timely deliveries.

Social Media Management:

  • Write engaging posts and interact with followers.
  • Create or edit graphics using Photoshop or similar tools.

General Administrative Tasks:

  • Use basic math and computer skills for tracking and reporting.
  • Manage multiple priorities and stay organized across tasks.

  • Tech Skills: Proficient in basic computer tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, folders, documents) and Photoshop or similar software (preferred). On the job training can be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience cooking
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Photoshop or graphic design experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in customer service, running a small business, or administrative roles is a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping tools, or website management is also a plus
  • Candidates with college degrees or in college will also be prioritized

Hiring Process

  • Please send us your application with your résumé and letter.
  • If we are interested we will contact you and set up a 15 minute zoom call.
  • If the zoom call goes well we will ask for your references and set up an in person interview for one hour. During that hour we’ll ask some questions and have you solve some business, math, and writing problems that relate to the job.
  • If all goes well, we’ll have you come to work for a day with us and see if it's a good fit. If it is, we will fill out paperwork to get started.
  • After hiring we will evaluate after a month to make sure everything is still going well.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 – 34.5 per week
