What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Zebra Pen Corporation?
The Sales Manager is responsible for all sales activity with a focus but not limited to the Commercial Market, Retail Market & Military Accounts including both existing and new business opportunities. The Sales Manager will develop strategic business plans to grow current accounts and expand territories with new accounts keeping focused on the goal to drive overall Zebra sales and profits. The Sales Manager will manage select Manufacturer Representatives in assigned areas. And maintain the sales and expense budget in assigned areas. The Sales Manager will work with all internal departments to keep all customers and key players operating efficiently. The Sales Manager is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and needs to be detail-oriented and highly organized. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Requirements:· Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in consumer goods product/category management
· Experience managing outside sales reps via phone, in-person meeting and through written communication
· BA or BS in related field
· P & L knowledge and understanding
· Forecasting experience
· Analytical aptitude
· Basic manufacturer operations knowledge including operational processes, marketing, forecasting
· Order procurement
· Promotional understanding
· Budget management experience
· Basic category management understanding
· Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
· Ability to communicate and motivate clearly and effectively with internal and external contacts via in-person meetings, telephone, and written communication
· Prospecting, and recruiting potential manufacturer reps and outside vendors
· People management and natural ability to make effective business decisions in the best interest of the company
· Strong Presentation skills
· Superior written and verbal communication skills
· Multi-tasking and coordinating project with changing priorities
· Strong understanding of the Retail Environment
· Strong understanding of the Commercial Market
