What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Worker position at Zebulon, NC?
Under general supervision of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor, this position will assist parks and recreation staff with various tasks covering all aspects of park maintenance to include general landscaping, athletic fields preparation and custodial duties to ensure the overall appearance, wellbeing, and sanitation needs of Town owned parks and facilities are being met.
Note: This position will be required to work 10* weekend hours (Saturday-Sunday) and 10 weekday hours (Monday-Friday) per week.

Detailed Work Activities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are a representation, not an all-inclusive listing, of the duties, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- General landscaping tasks such as mowing, bush & tree trimming, blowing, power washing, weed eating, and edging.
- Maintain and prepare athletic fields.
- Cleans buildings and facilities, landscape areas, playground equipment, bleachers, picnic tables and shade structures.
- Cleans and stocks restrooms products at each facility.
- Clean and remove litter from parks, parking lot, and other public areas.
- Provide assistance to department staff for the implementation of events and programs.
- Performs routine manual labor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Desirable Education and Experience
- One must have an education at a level that provides the ability to read and understand instructions.
- Possession of a valid NC driver's license
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, kneeling, walking, standing, fingering, grasping, talking (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words), hearing (perceiving nature of sounds by ear), and perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work is subject to adverse environmental conditions.
