JOB TITLE: Rentals Material Handler
REPORTS TO: Rentals Fleet Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to locate, move, organize and stage job specific materials or rental equipment
FUNCTIONAL JOB DUTIES:
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
- Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved per provided documentation. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher.
- Locate, stage and/or organize loose rental assets for future use.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Forklift certification preferred
- Clean, sort and organize shop space as needed.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with persons inside and outside the Company. Must be able to work under stress and handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines. Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements. Must be able to maintain and process job-related paperwork effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to go up and down stairs. Must be able to stand/be on your feet for long periods of time. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to operate a Computer, telephone and other office equipment. Must be able to tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with welding and industrial equipment manufacturing and apply appropriate safely equipment when required. Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in Company duties. Must be able to work overtime as required.
