Emergency Medicine Physician

Wapiti Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (MD or DO) to provide locum tenens coverage in the Emergency Department at Thief River Falls, Minnesota. This role involves managing a moderate annual patient volume of 7,900, with the busiest days being Sundays and Mondays. The position offers 13-hour shifts, utilizing the EPIC EMR system, and involves working within a Level IV Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, hold a Minnesota state license, and have relevant life support certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS or CALS).

Compensation: $183 - $225 per hour

Annual Volume: 7,900 patients per year

Peak Days: Sundays and Mondays

Shift Details:

• Physician Shifts: 13 hours each (8:00 AM - 9:00 PM & 7:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
• Second Coverage: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) available on Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Trauma Level: IV (144 traumas per year)

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Candidate Requirements:

• State License: Must hold or be eligible for a Minnesota State License
• DEA License: Required
• Covid/Flu Vaccination: Required (exemptions can be filed)
• Board Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (No specialties accepted)
• Experience: Preference for physicians with fast ultrasound experience
• Residents: Not accepted for this position
• Life Support Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA required), PALS, ATLS or CALS (stroke certification required)
• Note: ATLS is waived if ABEM-certified, but proof of previous ATLS certification is required
• CALS: Accepted in lieu of ATLS

Additional Requirements:

• Procedure Logs: Must provide logs for the previous 12 months from facilities that see over 3,000 patients annually, with at least 100 patient encounters.

Preferred Mode of Work:

• Driver preferred, but flyers will be considered under certain circumstances.
