Senior Network Engineer - Part Time (24-32 hours/week)

Job Summary:

Provides advanced technical support and design, maintenance, and troubleshooting expertise for computer network infrastructure.  Involved in planning, organizing, and strategizing the overall activities of the Information Technology Department to provide efficient data and voice operations to meet current and future requirements of the company. Provides technical knowledge and security guidance pursuant to ever-changing requirements and threat environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Capacity, disaster recovery, redundancy strategy planning
• Strong information security knowledge to apply industry best practices
• Maintains existing infrastructure components, keeping equipment/software updated where possible and recommending changes and replacements as necessary to ensure uninterrupted company operation
• Implement, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure devices
• Maintain appropriate documentation of network infrastructure for DR and business continuity purposes
• Demonstrates the ability to listen to multiple inputs in a complex problem and assess the path forward based on facts.
• Develop strong working relationships with co-workers and managers at all levels of the organization, as well as vendors and customers depending on the project.
• Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Certifications: CCNP, VCP-VCF, MCSE or equivalent preferred
• Experience: 11 years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of IT networking protocols and security
• Extensive experience with network hardware technologies and configurations – Cisco, Fortinet
• Knowledge and working experience with virtualization and storage infrastructure – VMware, NetApp, QNAP, MS Windows
• Knowledge of current and emerging technology trends and their impact on business strategies.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management. 
• Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Ability to maintain good attendance habits. 
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description. 
• Able to comply with the company’s Human Resources, Quality and Safety policies at all times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Operate in an office and production environment. Production environment could include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the production environment is usually very loud.
