Zeeland Public Schools has a wonderful opportunity for a Food Service Secretary working at Zeeland East High School. The Food Service Secretary provides clerical and secretarial assistance to the food program. Performs data entry and handles confidential information. Works to keep the food program moving in a safe, smooth, and efficient way with food service employees, teaching staff, and support staff along with administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical duties including answering phones, word processing, copying of monthly menus and filing.
- Ring in sales for ECC, CBI, sack lunches, and BCS.
- Responsible for accounts payable and PO requisitions.
- Manage student accounts and assisting parents with balance information. Send weekly negative over $5 and $10 letters.
- Place online orders for office supplies.
- Maintain POS programs, daily transactions and daily and monthly reporting. Troubleshoot any errors or problems in the POS Program and point of sales.
- Process and maintain district-wide free and reduced lunch applications list and import direct certification monthly.
- Produce new student or lost ID cards.
- Process invoices for catering, GSRP, Headstart, Z-Kids, BCS in Alio.
- Check weekly orders against invoices and pay bills.
- Run errands in emergency situations.
- Help in kitchen and on computers in emergency situations.
- Perform verification of free and reduced applications.
- Process and submit Gordon Food Service receipts to administration.
- Enter cash receipts and credit card summaries into Alio.
- Maintain website (menus, snow days notifications, pricing breakfast and lunch times).
- Process refund request from parents and NSF check notifications.
- Assist in the onboarding of new employees, email, POS login, employee manual, and POS training.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in communications and/or accounting preferred, or high school diploma with additional training or related work experience.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, and ability to be proficient in POS Program) is required.
- Must have excellent communication skills (positive, pleasant and interacts effectively with public) and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Broad knowledge of school district organizations, policies, and procedures.
- Must be positive, pleasant, neat, clean, and able to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organization skills is required.
- Ability to manage many tasks and jobs at one time.
- Must have accurate accounting abilities.
- Working knowledge of kitchen duties and supplies.
Schedule:
7:45-3:45 PM Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (August 1st - June 30th)
Compensation:
Level III - $15.87-17.14
