What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney - Commercial Litigation / Bankruptcy position at Zeisler & Zeisler PC?
Zeisler & Zeisler PC, a highly-regarded corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and commercial litigation boutique, seeks an attorney to join its commercial and bankruptcy litigation practice. We are seeking a motivated 2- to 5-year associate with a desire to take on substantial, and often independent, responsibility for civil litigation. The successful candidate will be given opportunities to perform functions and tasks usually performed by more senior lawyers at larger firms.
The associate will handle all aspects of civil litigation across diverse areas of law in state and federal court from inception to completion: drafting pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery, including communicating and working with clients on discovery responses and compliance; drafting, opposing and arguing motions; conducting and defending depositions, including preparing clients for depositions; conducting evidentiary hearings and trials; and drafting and arguing appeals.
Required Qualifications:
· Admission to the Connecticut Bar.
· Working knowledge of the Connecticut Practice Book and Connecticut civil practice.
· Admitted to practice, or willing to apply for admission to practice, in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
· Excellent written and verbal skills.
· Excellent legal research skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledgeable with LEXIS or similar legal research platform.
· Knowledgeable with Relativity or similar ESI review platform.
