Position Summary: The Production Manager will be responsible planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing teams, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations.
Essential Job Functions
- Production Planning and Operations.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet business goals.
- Monitor workflow to ensure production targets are met.
- Coordinate with different departments (procurement, logistics, quality control, etc.).
- Optimize resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials.
- Issue, distribute and enter Manufacturing work orders.
- Process and monitor Engineering Work Orders
- Quality Control and Compliance.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and industry compliance standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high-quality output.
- Team Management and Leadership
- Supervise and train production staff to improve performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and manage workforce scheduling.
- Process Improvement and Efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Drive lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reduce waste and optimize production costs.
- Equipment and Facility Management.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Ensure the production facility is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and upgrades.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination.
- Work with procurement to ensure materials and components are available.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Coordinate production with supply chain and logistics teams.
- Reporting and Documentation.
- Track production metrics and generate reports for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, safety incidents, and quality issues.
- Implement and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Shipping & Receiving Management.
- Oversee shipping and receiving procedures.
- Assist with international shipments, be familiar with INCOTERMS and customs paperwork.
- Ensure parts received meet quality standards and match PO's.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Talents
- Bachelor's Degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in production management, manufacturing, or purchasing preferred.
- Knowledge of Macola Software, preferred, will train on this software.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
