We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations, with a primary focus on revenue accounting while supporting broader financial processes. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, ensuring accurate billing and revenue recognition, while also contributing to financial reporting, compliance, and operational improvements across the accounting function.
The ideal candidate has experience in SaaS accounting, particularly revenue recognition and subscription billing, and is comfortable working cross-functionally to develop scalable, efficient financial processes. This role requires a mix of hands-on execution and strategic oversight, ensuring accounting policies and practices align with both business needs and compliance requirements.
While we are headquartered in Austin, Texas, this position is open to remote candidates. For local candidates, we offer a hybrid office arrangement with flexible hours.

What you’ll do:
General Accounting & Compliance:
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations (U.S., Canada, and other relevant regions).
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and tax filings.
- Oversee and optimize the order-to-cash process, ensuring accurate revenue accounting and collections.
- Manage subscription billing cycles, contract changes, proration, and adjustments.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, and Engineering to improve invoicing and payment processes.
- Act as a key point of contact for revenue-related customer inquiries, collections, and issue resolution.
- Leverage and optimize accounting, ERP, and billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, Chargebee).
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for system enhancements and financial controls.
- Generate, review, and ensure accuracy of customer invoices.
- Manage subscription billing cycles, proration, and adjustments in line with contract terms.
- Resolve billing tickets and address customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Collect outstanding receivables, as needed.
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to address complex issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting, billing, or revenue operations in a SaaS environment.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (e.g., ASC 606).
- Proficiency in accounting and billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, Chargebee). Zuora is preferred, but not required.
- CPA is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
