Billing Specialist (Remote)

Zelms Erlich Lenkov is a dynamic, rapidly growing law firm operating in California, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico who has an opening for a Legal Billing Specialist/Coordinator. The Billing Specialist/Coordinator will work closely with attorneys’, legal assistants and accounting department staff to complete the full billing cycle from preparing prebills to submitting invoices and follow up, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with carrier guidelines to ensure prompt and full payment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with assigned attorneys to ensure accuracy and efficiency in preparing monthly invoices.
• Perform necessary prebill edits and file maintenance
• Post invoices, submit to various eBilling websites, track approval process and submit appeals where necessary. Ensures compliance with electronic billing sites and carrier guidelines. Follow up on invoice status, rejections, appeals, etc.
• Assist in identifying and resolving billing discrepancies
• Participate in the onboarding of new insurance carriers and clients, including opening matters, submitting timekeeper timecards, budgets, etc.
• Coordinate with AP staff to ensure timely submission of vendor costs to be billed to clients.
• Assist with outstanding collections
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• LEDES Billing: 2 years
• Experience in a legal environment or professional services preferred.
• Experience in Orion Billing Software preferred
• Familiarity with various e-billing vendors, such as Bottomline, T360, CounselLink, Legal Suite Solutions, Legal Tracker, Quovant, etc. a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
