Are you an ambitious, curious, and entrepreneurial college sophomore eager to gain hands-on experience in venture capital? Zemi Capital Partners, a Dallas-based startup accelerator and venture capital firm, is seeking Venture Capital Interns to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to learn the inner workings of early-stage investing, gain exposure to innovative startups, and develop a foundation for a future in finance, entrepreneurship, or venture capital.
Responsibilities
As a Venture Capital Intern, you will work directly with our investment team and play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day activities of Zemi Capital Partners. Your responsibilities will include:
Market Research & Analysis
- Research emerging markets, industries, and disruptive trends relevant to startups and venture capital.
- Identify and analyze competitors and comparable companies for potential investments.
Startup Evaluation
- Assist in evaluating and screening startups, reviewing pitch decks, and summarizing key business metrics.
- Participate in team discussions about investment opportunities.
Financial Modeling & Valuation
- Help prepare basic financial models and valuation analyses for startups.
- Support in developing return-on-investment (ROI) projections and forecasts.
Portfolio Management Support
- Collaborate with portfolio companies to gather data, prepare performance reports, and provide operational insights.
Administrative Support
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing presentation materials, and updating internal databases.
- Track deal flow and maintain records of pitches and follow-ups.
Special Projects
- Work on strategic projects such as building pitch decks for internal initiatives or crafting market-entry strategies for portfolio startups.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in startups, technology, and venture capital.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience with startups, entrepreneurship clubs, or investment groups is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation techniques, or market analysis.
