Zen Design Group is a consumer product designing company of kidults and childrens products. We conceive designs for products from concept to launch of product under the LEGO license contract. Our production studio employees artists and designers from a variety of disciplines including concept artists, graphic designers, illustrators, and industrial designers.
We are hiring a Design Production Planner to manage the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production, and monitoring the production process for problems. Design work encompasses product concepts, packaging, instruction, and merchandising.
The Design Production Planner ensures the production process goes smoothly by making sure all of the appropriate parts are in place and ready to go. Some of the typical Design Production Planner job duties and responsibilities include:
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating
- Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
- Handling production disruptions and productivity problems
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
- Evaluate potential problems and develop solutions
- Plan and manage goals, project schedules and new information
- Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track
- Manage project-related by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored
- Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails
- Communicate with [stakeholder] to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
- Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures
- Maintaining production supplies and production equipment
- Assist with proofing of artwork for accuracy
Requirements:
· Minimum 4-year BA/BS degree in any subject
· Minimum Five years of experience in production planning in industries such as printing, advertising, marketing, and related industries
· Microsoft Office Suite – Intermediate skill level required including Microsoft Project,
· Smartsheet or other project plan software

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 based on experience/qualifications
