Job Overview
Zen Educate seeks full-time Special Education Paraprofessionals to work with K-12 students. This role supports licensed teachers with academic adaptations, self-care, and social/behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed staff in implementing academic adaptations and IEPs.
- Support students' self-care and social/behavioral needs individually or in small groups.
- Maintain a safe and conducive classroom environment.
- Provide timely support in crisis situations.
- Enhance student engagement and learning outcomes using various methods.
Requirements
- Education:
- 60 college credits or higher, OR passing scores on the Paraeducator Assessment (65% on Instructional Support and 70% on Knowledge and Application) or the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of 460 ).
- Language & Authorization:
- Professional proficiency in English.
- U.S. Work Authorization.
- Experience:
- Prior experience working with children in a structured setting is an asset.
- ParaPro Certification (upskilling options provided for candidates without standard educational background)
- Behavioral Technician or PCA experience working with children is an asset.
- Past work experience in a school setting with children with special needs is an asset.
- Pay: $18 - $23 per hour, paid weekly.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, within hours of 7:30 am - 3:00/4:30 pm.
