Job Title: Teaching Aide
We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Teaching Aides for the 2024-2025 school year. As a Teaching Aide, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in special education and contribute to their development.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Aide, you will work alongside experienced classroom teachers to support students with special educational needs. Your role will involve assisting the teacher in delivering instruction, working with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning material, and maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering instruction.
- Work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce instructional material and enhance their learning experiences.
- Support students with personal care or hygiene needs, including toileting.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
- Utilize various learning methods to engage students and support their academic and personal growth.
Working Hours:
Teaching Aides will work on a Monday to Friday schedule with hours between 7:30am and 4:30pm. The total weekly hours are typically 25-35, paid weekly at a competitive hourly rate of $19-$22 per hour.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- US Work Authorization (Zen Educate cannot provide sponsorship for an employment visa or relocation assistance at this time).
- Proficiency in English.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Experience supporting students with personal care needs, particularly toileting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ParaPro Certification or similar.
- Past work experience in a school setting.
- CPI Training.
