About the Role
This part-time, flexible role offers the opportunity to work alongside licensed teachers, supporting K-12 special education students. You will provide one-on-one or small group support with academic modifications, self-care, and social/behavioral needs.
Responsibilities
- Implement academic adaptations and individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of licensed staff.
- Support students' self-care and social/behavioral needs through individual or small group work.
- Maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Provide timely support to students in crisis situations.
- Tailor support to each student's needs using various learning methods.
Requirements
- Education: 60 college credits or higher, or a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment (65% on the Instructional Support test and 70% on the Knowledge and Application test), or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of 460 or above)
- Language & Authorization: Professional proficiency in English and U.S. Work Authorization (no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance)
- Experience: At least 1-year experience working with children in any structured setting
