Job Summary:
Being an ambassador for our restaurant brand by playing a key role in contributing to the smooth operation of the front of the house. Greeting diners and engaging in friendly conversation to cultivate a hospitable welcoming environment while making menu suggestions. Being attentive to the needs of customers, fully meeting their expectations throughout their dining experience by providing exceptional customer service with a pleasant demeanor. Continually attending to diners before and during to insure timely delivery of food and beverages through to payment.
Job Description
Functions and Competencies
· Welcoming and sitting diners comfortably in the dining section, as needed.
· Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events.
· Excellent listening skills and detail oriented to meet customers’ requests.
· Knowledgeable of food and beverages on the menu as well as chef specials
· Awareness of menu items availability
· Memorization of the menu.
· Beer, cocktail, and wine knowledge; ability to offer modifications and recommendations to guests and enter into POS.
· Ability to perform proper wine service steps and awareness of safety precautions.
· Provides information to guests to help food and beverage selections and be able to recommend food selections and beverages.
· Explain dishes to guests and clarify any concerns about allergies or styles of food preparation.
· Suggest courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings.
· Transmits utilizing restaurant software orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests.
· Serve patrons with food and beverages in a prompt and efficient manner.
· Refilling guest beverages
· Replenish and stock inventory: napkins, service plates, containers, glassware, and utensils as needed.
· Replenish and fill as needed during service beverages and condiments.
· Maintains dining ambiance with a positive enthusiastic attitude.
· Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders
· Keeping guests and kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
· Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff.
· Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
· Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process.
· Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
· Aid and sets dining room configuration, tables and chairs to meet guests needs
· Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
· Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly
· Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers, and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant
· Obtains revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bills and payments to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
· Concludes guests dining experience, acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
· Accurate recording of tips and tracking of receipts.
· Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
· Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
· Closing tasks, bussing dishes, sweeping floors, wiping menus and completing next shifts setup.
· Patience and customer-oriented approach.
· Arriving five minutes before shift ready for opening section duties and service.
· Responsible and trustworthy.
· Additional requests as needed for the smooth operation of the shift.
Education and Training:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Restaurant serving experience
· Experience in cashier duties
· POS Software Experience a plus
ServSafe Certificate valued

Pay: $6.38 per hour
