Zen Sherpa LLC is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team on-site. In this role, you will design and development of innovative mechanical systems in mobile construction, mining, oil & gas, and heavy industrial sectors.

Requirements
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mobile heavy equipment mechanical design experience
- Proven design skills demonstrated through past projects including assembly layouts, knowledge of weldments, heavy structural design, and finite element analysis
- Strong customer-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Excellent planning and organizational skills for product design, analysis, and testing
- Proficient in at least one major 3D CAD software Autodesk Inventor (preferred), or similar
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management capabilities
- Commitment to meeting and exceeding project deadlines
- Ability to document work in detail using software tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related needs
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), especially ANSYS
- Familiarity with multiple CAD systems
- Background in designing mobile heavy equipment and large-capacity structures
- Experience in manufacturing or related industries
- Knowledge of powertrain and engine installation systems design
- Understanding of hydraulic and electrical system designs
- A systems design approach for mobile heavy equipment
- Lead the design of new mechanical systems and components from concept through prototype testing and production
- Integrate various systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, structural, electrical) into cohesive designs
- Specify and define mechanical components for mobile equipment
- Provide expert solutions to address client challenges
- Mentor and guide junior engineering team members
- Manage timelines and project deliverables effectively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project execution
- Hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Prior work with hydraulic or electrical systems is advantageous
- Knowledge of system design methodologies for heavy equipment is preferred
