The Area Visual Manager (AVM) role enhances the in-store shopping experience in multiple Agencies. This person will oversee a group of Agencies in a geographical area. The AVM will assist with operational improvements, serve as a brand ambassador throughout the year and partner with the Agencies using a solution-oriented approach. AVM’s will work independently with Agencies to solve agency-level challenges and are a hands-on resource to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Relationship Building

  • Build trust and a strong working relationship with the Agency owner and associates through face-to-face visits and a hands-on approach
  • Partner with Agency owner/manager to identify pain points and determine opportunities
  • Present yourself professionally, using integrity at all times in completing the strategic work to be done
  • Work effectively with a variety of personality types and individuals representing a wide range of perspectives, both engaged and unengaged, motivated and disheartened

Communication and Education

  • Serve as a regular point of contact and resource to Agencies, documenting interactions and cascading information to appropriate parties
  • Clarify communications regarding products and processes that are sent to Agencies
  • Gather meaningful insights during Agency visits and communicate back to appropriate partners
  • Provide product knowledge and help associates build confidence in hand-selling

Merchandising and Operations

  • Implement merchandising strategies and brand standards
  • Analyze and monitor Agency inventory and collaborate with partners to determine merchandising adjustments in an effort to reduce stale and discounted inventory and get new inventory on the shelf
  • Install and/or execute visual displays within the Agency based on predetermined programs
  • Assist with Agency resets, new Agency openings, and Agency remodels
  • Tasks could include but are not limited to:
  • Stocking shelves/end caps and ensuring new product is on the sales floor
  • Pick, pack and prepare transfers within territory to help get the right product to the right stores
  • Measure and document Agency floor plan including backroom spaces, category layout and linear footage
  • Conduct surveys and gather feedback

Marketing

  • Assist with implementing in-Agency marketing programs and ensure that marketing pieces are appropriately placed to highlight correct products
  • Maintain branding items, ensure they are displayed and/or being utilized properly and identify additional opportunities

Fundamental

  • Travel between Agencies requires access to a reliable vehicle (A small SUV or crossover-sized vehicle may be needed to transport materials and/or products.)
  • Personal computer and phone use may be required
  • Mileage is reimbursed but travel can vary greatly (25 to 100 miles per working day)
  • Average 35 hours per week; ranges between 30-40 depending on agenda
  • Availability Monday - Friday most weeks is ideal; Weekends are not typically required
  • Job requires being on your feet and being able to lift 40-50 pounds consistently
  • Role consists of a combination of group meetings/planning and individual responsibilities
  • Job is an extension of a governmental department, which requires a heightened level of confidentiality and consideration

KEY SKILLS:

  • Experience in merchandising in a retail setting
  • Experience working in both creative and data-centric environments; agile
  • Computer proficiency, comfortable learning new programs/applications (Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to consistently document details regarding interactions with Agency employees and/or shoppers
  • Experience in understanding and implementing sales goals
  • Strong communication skills including being able to discern meaning from non-verbal feedback
  • Category knowledge or interest in high-proof spirits is nice to have

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
