Who You Are:
Compliance Manager - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $150,000 - $250,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At ZeniMax certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, such as merit increases and discretionary bonuses. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are not guaranteed. Benefits/perks listed here may vary depending on the nature of employment with ZeniMax and the country work location. Responsibilities
Compliance Leadership & Risk Management
- Provide leadership and direction in the development of compliance strategies, systems, processes, and controls to align with the company’s strategic direction and growth.
- Engage teams with urgency and emotional intelligence—meeting them where they are to make compliance approachable, practical, and valuable. You excel at breaking down complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance that empowers teams to integrate compliance seamlessly into their workflows. Through influence, relationship-building, and a customer-first mindset, you drive adoption, foster trust, and ensure compliance becomes a shared priority rather than a hurdle.
- Establish and track compliance metrics to promote continuous improvement across the organization.
- Lead and conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks.
- Drive the design, implementation, and strategic oversight of internal controls, ensuring we meet compliance while enabling business agility.
- Act as a trusted advisor to teams across Legal, IT, Marketing, and Studios—ensuring compliance doesn’t become a bottleneck.
- Shape compliance processes that integrate seamlessly with game development and digital operations.
- Drive Internal Audit issue remediation by delivering scalable, practical solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Own and oversee website compliance, ensuring we meet and exceed GDPR, CCPA, ADA, WCAG, ESRB Privacy Certified and other global and company standards.
- Maintain a dynamic inventory of our websites, ensuring uniform compliance standards and enabling transparency and reporting.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of our consent management platform (e.g., OneTrust) in partnership with Legal and Marketing.
- Audit and test websites and digital platforms, using both manual and automated tools to identify and prioritize compliance updates.
- Partner with creative teams to build web experiences that are both innovative and legally airtight—because compliance and creativity can go hand-in-hand.
- Maintain clear, accessible documentation and other guidance that empowers teams to build compliant websites from the start.
- Regularly review and update legal and other stakeholders across ZeniMax websites, collaborating with Legal, IT, Marketing, and studio teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Make compliance accessible by designing training programs that empower teams across ZMI.
- Stay on top of emerging compliance trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices—so we’re never caught off guard.
- Respond to compliance-related inquiries from internal and external teams with clarity and confidence.
- Prepare and present insights to senior leadership, shaping the future of compliance at ZMI.
- Ensure that third-party vendors and partners align with our compliance standards.

- 5 years of experience in website compliance, digital risk, or a related role.

- Proven ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and deliver on commitments, consistently adding value while maintaining high standards.
- Experience with consent management platforms, cookie compliance, and web development standards.
- Deep expertise in website compliance standards and requirements, including those relating to privacy, safety, and accessibility. (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ADA, WCAG, EAA).
- Skilled at collaborating with Legal, IT, and Marketing teams to embed compliance into digital strategies seamlessly.
- Adept at engaging with legal teams and business leaders to clarify complex regulations in an easy-to-apply way.
- Skilled at translating complex regulations into simple, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical teams.
- Proven track record of build scalable, lightweight compliance programs that support business agility without creating bottlenecks.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills—you challenge the status quo to drive strategic improvements and develop solutions that work for teams and the business.
- Strong customer service mindset—you make compliance easy, not an obstacle.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, turning uncertainty into clear, actionable strategies.
- Experience with game development and legal considerations.
