What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Scientist position at Zenith LifeScience?
At Zenith Life Science's Cell Therapy Analytical Development team, we create and deliver cutting-edge biological assays to advance cell therapy products through research and commercial stages. Our team supports the end-to-end biological and bioanalytical characterization of cell therapy products, enabling manufacturing processes, formulation, drug product development, and regulatory filings from IND to BLA and beyond. We collaborate closely with analytical quality and several cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, QA, and manufacturing.
Accountabilities:
- Perform basic laboratory experiments (e.g., ELISA, cell culture, cell co-culture, cytotoxicity assay, and/or flow cytometry-based assays).
- Carry out sample testing to enable process and product development.
- Participate in method development and optimization activities under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Make detailed observations, analyze data with minimal supervision.
- Maintain laboratory organization and comply with safety protocols.
- Present and discuss experimental results at group/project team meetings.
- Work in a team-based structure.
- Maintain meticulous documentation.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field with 2-10 years of relevant experience. This role may not be the best fit for PhD-level candidates.
Proficient with basic immunology techniques is required and must have experience in cell culture and cell-based bioassays.
Experience in ELISAs or similar technology platforms for cytokine production is preferred. Good time management and organizational skills are essential.
Skills Required:
- Strong laboratory experience is required.
- Experience in flow cytometry is desirable but not required.
- Cell Therapy industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent documentation skills are mandatory.
